Mini Spec · 3.5″ class
The DDR Mini Spec League is a 3.5″ spec class built for tight racing, clear limits, and spectator-friendly action — same philosophy as the programme described on the classic DDR Mini Spec page.
With canopy (mandatory for DDR Mini Spec races).
17,500 RPM limit (enforced in firmware).
≈ 850mAh class.
Betaflight Kaack with boost enabled.
HDZero Race 3 + Nano 90 (13mm).
Gemfan 3525 (3.5″).
RGB 5V strip for canopy illumination.
The DDR Mini Spec frame is designed by Sander Puh, creator of the Drippuh frame familiar on DDR tracks. The design draws from SpeedyPizzaDrones NEC and the Spec7 frame by Five33.
Spec racing keeps speeds capped so precision and control matter: identical top speed pushes pilots into close, tactical battles. Up to three speed boosts per race add strategy.
The frame uses a custom 3D-printed canopy. A conversion kit swaps the canopy for a carbon top plate for a mini Spec7 look — but the canopy is mandatory to race in DDR Mini Spec.
The canopy adds a dedicated LED strip channel for full canopy lighting — ideal in low light or tight venues.
Analog VTX mounting is replaced with a HDZero Race 3–compatible mount, with inserts for the HDZero Nano 90 and 13mm lens. The antenna mount includes inserts for popular antennas such as Triumph Pro, Rush Cherry II, Foxeer Micro Lollipop, and TrueRC Singularity.
Download the official print pack (canopy, camera pod, antenna inserts) on Printables — same bundle referenced from the legacy Mini Spec page.
Pilots must run the Kaack build of Betaflight. Set the RPM limiter to 17,500 and enable boost so every quad hits the same cap — keeping finals fair while leaving room for tactical boosts.
