Last Saturday evening (21 January 2023), Dutch Drone Racing held a thrilling event called “DDR – Whooping the Galaxy,“ a fun whoop drone race that attracted competitors from all over the country. The race was held at a gym in Nijmegen. The track was beautifully decorated with LEDs and black light objects passing the vibes of the galaxy.
The atmosphere was electric as pilots took to the galaxy, manoeuvring their tiny whoop drones through a challenging obstacle course at breakneck speeds. Spectators were treated to a display of skill and precision as pilots navigated tight turns and dodged obstacles with ease.
Competition was fierce, with pilots pushing themselves and their drones to the limit in pursuit of victory. There were 6 rounds of fun racing where pilots could set their best ‘Top 3 Consecutive’ times. The finals were held among the 4 pilots with the best Top 3 Consecutive scores.
The finals were done with the Chase the Ace rules. In the end, it was a close race but the winner emerged victorious winning both first rounds closing the evening. It was Sir Crashalot taking home the the title of “DDR Whooping the Galaxy #1” champion.
The event was not only a showcase of the incredible capabilities of these tiny drones but also the skill of the pilots that fly them. Dutch Drone Racing is dedicated to promoting the sport of drone racing and providing a platform for pilots to showcase their talents and having a good time together. New friendships have been made and we are already looking forward to the next event and can’t wait to see what these pilots will accomplish next. All in all, it was a successful event that brought together the drone racing community and gave everyone a chance to see the amazing potential of these tiny machines.
